Big Woods Nature Trail
Photo-of-the-Month
For June is by
Ruth Talley
of Woodville, TX
Ruth Talley of Woodville captured this magnificent photo of a damselfly perched over a pool of water along the Big Woods Nature Trail. The damselfly, a predator, is sometimes called a "mosquito hawk" and this one is probably poised to hunt for mosquitos or other insects. The photo was selected by the Tyler County Art League Judge as the Big Woods Nature Trail's June Photo-of-the-Month.
Everyone walking the Big Woods Nature Trail is encouraged to snap photos of sights that catch their eye and share them. Instructions for submitting photos to the Photo-of-the-Month contest are posted on the kiosk across from the Pickett House at Heritage Village in Woodville. Benches are placed throughout the woods for your comfort and wayfinding signs will ensure that you can always find your way back to the Village.
